Also sometimes called Queen Anne's lace - this frothy wildflower with a single red bloom at its centre is Long-stalked and shaped like an upside-down umbrella. Wild carrot does, indeed, smell of carrots, but the roots are not strong like our cultivated, dinnertime favourite. Look for it on chalk grasslands and along coastlines.
